The ContraBass unit features extended low-frequency range of 16Hz to 125 Hz filling the increasing demand for an accurate extended-range, low frequency response subwoofer with high acoustic output and compact size. Applications range from cinema sound, home theater, live sound applications, theatrical sound, clubs, discos, and for live and recorded music - just about anywhere low frequency sound enhances performance or supplies crowd excitement. In addition, they are extensively used in scientific research.

Having none of the restrictive attributes of traditional low frequency enclosures, the ContraBass loudspeaker offers greater cone excursions. Due to the fact that the thermal time constant on the motor armature is long, large short-term power levels can be safely tolerated. This allows for FULL frequency response (16 to 125 Hz) to be produced accurately and clearly. Levels of harmonic distortion and non-linearity remain quite small, even at large excursions and high power levels.
